Frequently Asked Questions

At Dent Direct, we know that getting your vehicle repaired—especially after a storm—can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’re here to answer your most common questions with clear, honest information. If you don’t see your question listed here, give us a call. We’re happy to help.

  • Will filing a hail damage claim raise my insurance rates?

No. Hail damage is considered a comprehensive claim, which covers events outside your control (like weather). These types of claims do not affect your premium and are not counted against you the way collision claims might be.

  • What is paintless dent repair (PDR), and how does it work?

PDR is a non-invasive method of removing dents and dings from a vehicle without affecting the factory paint. We access the backside of the panel and apply slow, steady pressure to reshape the metal—leaving no sanding, body filler, or paint behind.

  • Is paintless dent repair covered by insurance?

Yes. Most insurance companies prefer PDR for hail damage repair because it’s effective, efficient, and helps retain your vehicle’s value. We work directly with your adjuster to get everything approved.

  • Do I have to pay my deductible?

In most cases, no. Dent Direct offers up to $500 deductible assistance for qualifying hail repairs. We’ll apply this credit to your repair, and you won’t owe anything out of pocket.

  • How long does a repair take?

Typical paintless dent repairs take 2–3 days, depending on the extent of the damage. Some minor repairs can even be completed same-day. We'll give you a clear timeline during your estimate.

  • Will the dents come back over time?

No. PDR is a permanent repair solution. Once the dent is removed, it will not return. Unlike conventional bodywork, there are no fillers or sanding marks to cause long-term issues.

  • Can I get a loaner car while mine is being repaired?

Yes. We offer a free loaner vehicle for qualifying repairs so you don’t have to put your life on hold while we fix your car. Just ask us when you schedule your service.
